NRA BASICS OF PISTOL SHOOTING

NRA Nevada Multi-State CCW

Defensive Pistol
NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is a beginner-level firearm safety course - not a marksmanship or concealed carry class. We recommend this in-person course for those who are new to pistols, have limited experience, or want a refresher on basic pistol safety concepts. This objective-based class explores the important facets of firearm ownership including safe gun handling, ammunition, maintenance, storage, and basic shooting techniques. Training by certified instructors. Students will need a pistol (.22 caliber or greater), approximately 100 rounds of factory ammunition (ammunition is not allowed in the classroom), eye & ear protection (prescription eyewear acceptable), and a positive attitude. Upon successfully passing this course, including the basic knowledge exam and shooting lesson, students will meet NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting national standards and will earn an official certificate of completion. The class will last approximately 4-6 hours including live-fire training. A welcome letter will be emailed within 48 hours of registration. Approximately 100 rounds of ammunition are needed for this class.
The NRA Nevada Multi-state CCW is a course for students who are interested in carrying a concealed pistol for personal protection while in public. This objective-basic course explores important aspects CCW including firearm safety, selecting a pistol for self defense, personal protection ammunition selection, basic concealed carry concepts, shooting from concealment, tactical reloading, situational awareness, defensive mindset, holstering, and basic personal defense shooting techniques. Training by certified instructors. Students will need a pistol, 30 rounds of factory ammunition (ammunition is not allowed in the classroom), eye & ear protection (prescription eyewear acceptable), and a positive attitude. Upon successfully passing this course, including knowledge exam and shooting drills, students will meet NRA & Nevada CCW standards and will earn an official certificate of completion. Approximately 8 hours including live fire training. A welcome letter will be emailed within 48 hours of registration.
Safety, range etiquette, clearing, loading, equipment, fundamentals of fire, draw stroke, clearing stoppages, common mistakes, and warrior mindset are the main subjects tackled in this essential course. Though this training is designed for beginners, the subject matter and technique allows students to build realistic skills that can survive the test of stress and small-time constraints. No need to buy special equipment. A welcome letter will be emailed within 48 hours of registration. Approximately 150 rounds of ammunition are needed for this class.

NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home
NRA Personal Protection in the Home (PPITH), sponsored by Chapman Tactical Defense, is for students who are interested in safely protecting their family, home, and surroundings. This objective-based class takes students beyond basic pistol safety concepts to include when you can use your firearm for home defense. "Safe room" principles and emergency planning, discouraging thieves, preventing unauthorized use of home firearm, controlling confrontations, awareness mindset, use of cover & concealment, proper interaction with the police after an incident, and basic personal protection shooting techniques & skill development. Training by certified instructors. Students will need a pistol (9mm caliber or greater recommended), approximately 150 rounds of factory ammunition (ammunition is not allowed in the classroom), eye & ear protection (prescription eyewear acceptable), and a positive attitude. Upon successfully passing this course, including knowledge exam and shooting drills, students will meet NRA Personal Protection in the Home national standards and will earn an official certificate of completion. Approximately 8 hours including live-fire training. A welcome letter will be emailed within 48 hours of registration.

NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home
NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOTH), sponsored by Chapman Tactical Defense, is an in-person class for students who are interested in protecting themselves and their family while carrying a firearm in public. This objective-based course explores important concealed carry concepts including how to develop a defensive mindset, cover & concealment principles, holstering options for maximum efficiency, concealed carry laws, how to travel with your firearm, when you can shoot for protection of self and others, proper interaction with the police after an incident, aftermath preparation, basic tactical reloading & defensive shooting drills. Training by certified instructors. Students will need a pistol (9mm caliber or greater recommended), approximately 250 rounds of factory ammunition (ammunition is not allowed in the classroom), eye & ear protection (prescription eyewear acceptable), hip or appendix holster, snap caps, 2 extra magazines, and a positive attitude. Upon successfully passing this course, including knowledge exam and shooting drills, students will meet NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home national standards and will earn an official certificate of completion. Approximately 10 hours including live fire-training. A welcome letter will be emailed within 48 hours of registration.

Nevada Multi-State CCW Renewal

NRA Range Safety Officer Certification
Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions.

NRA New Shooter Seminar
NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting is an in-person beginner-level rifle safety course - not a marksmanship or tactical class. We recommend this course for those who are new to Long Rifle and AR-15 platforms, have limited experience, or want a refresher on basic rifle safety concepts. This objective-based class explores the important facets of rifle ownership including safe handling, ammunition, maintenance, storage, stances, and basic scoping & shooting techniques. Continued opportunities for skill development will be discussed. Students will need a rifle (.22 caliber or greater), 100 rounds of factory ammunition (ammunition is not allowed in the classroom), eye & ear protection (prescription eyewear acceptable), and a positive attitude. Upon successfully passing this course, including the basic knowledge exam and shooting lesson, students will meet NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting national standards and will earn an official certificate of completion. Approximately 4-6 hours including live-fire training. A welcome letter will be emailed within 48 hours of registration. Approximately 100 rounds of ammunition are needed for this class.

American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED
The purpose of the courses in the First Aid/CPR/AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Class time is approximately 4 hours.
This is a Nevada Multi-state CCW renewal course that satisfies the requirements for renewal of your Nevada CCW.
The NRA New Shooter Seminar exposes new gun owners to the fundamentals of firearm safety. This 45-60 minute seminar is a great introduction to the important safety aspects of owning a firearm. This class is 100% FREE!

American Red Cross FAST Training
First Aid for Severe Trauma (FAST) provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to respond to an emergency involving life-threatening bleeding, including how to recognize a life-threatening bleeding emergency, ensure safety and communicate effectively in an emergency, control life-threatening bleeding using direct pressure, a tourniquet, or both. Class is approximately 90 minutes.
